Last week we had The Moon which spoke to a foggy and surreal reality. This week we have The Page of Swords which is pretty much the opposite. The Page cards in Tarot are the lowliest members of the court and have the least amount of power, but in this comes a certain freedom. It’s nice to live a life of relative luxury and not have to concern yourself with responsibilities. The Page is childlike in this respect; he can speak his truth and relay information and not worry too much about protocol and political correctness.
Swords represent knowledge, logic and telling it like it is. So this Page brings swift information to you that might be blunt but at least it’ll clear up confusion. This is the child who announces to his mother that the emperor isn’t actually wearing any clothes.
So we’ve been riding this line lately between fizzy edges and stark reality. It’s in the collective experience and it’s in your personal one. Look at the imagery on the card, this Page is slicing through uncertainty, the wind is blowing his hair, clearing his mind. He's standing on a hill, with a clear vantage point of the entire land. He will have us leaning toward facing problems squarely.
Now, back to political correctness… there’s an art in truth telling. You must be able to say it like it is, without worrying about how it will affect others but you must do so in a way that is clear and kind. Telling someone to f*%k off isn’t as effective as telling them that you need some space to calm down and get clear before you reconvene.
So your mission this week is to get clear. Tell the truth. Use logic to cut through the crap. There will be fortitude required, and responsibility taken. But in the end, you’re going to be the one standing tall, overlooking your life with a sense of satisfaction in having said what you needed to say and feeling the respect of the people around you for being true and kind and clear about it. People like to know where they stand with you and this is the time to let them know.
