I read a great description of the Sun Card where it suggested that in order to understand the energy of this card, you should imagine yourself to be a Sun God. How would a God of the Sun think and feel? What would the God of the Sun’s relationship to strength and vitality be? That’s the kind of energy that this card brings to your life this week.
We're all in the process of becoming enlightened. We’re beginning to see how precarious all of our precious systems are aren't we? Suddenly, it seems that a single man with a pen and some financial backing can literally erase hard won laws and write ridiculous new ones. We're starting to see how easily a company with money can feed us poisons so that another company with money can sell us medicine to “heal” the damage created by the poisons. As one injustice and sleight of hand is revealed after another, we begin to realize the extent of the smoke and mirrors and it becomes apparent that blindly believing all of the tricks shown on the stage of the magic show leaves us cold and powerless..
When the Sun shines the light of awareness onto what was previously hidden, it provides us with a new kind of power. The Sun God knows what power is, and he isn’t fooled easily. The Sun God puts on the heat to burn away the clouds and that's the emphasis this week. What’s cloudy in your life and your reality that needs to be illuminated?
The Sun card also speaks to the power of energizing yourself, honoring yourself, allowing yourself to be expansive, regardless of anything else that’s happening. So often we remain small because we want to self protect, but this week, pull in some of the hot intensity and fiery heat of the sun, use it like a torch to light your way and to help you to feel safe and warm and even more importantly, lend you the invigoration you need to shine forth and be powerful beyond measure.
