I used to love to give.
I would give my time, my attention, my insight, my love, my money and my service to those I cared for, and even some that I didn’t. Not only did I truly enjoy facilitating smooth experience for those around me, but I liked to have the upper hand.
I did not like to receive.
It made me uncomfortable because it upset the balance in my eyes. I preferred to be the one “putting out”. When someone would give me their time I felt like a burden, their attention made me felt scrutinized. When they offered insight I felt beholden to them and their love made me feel…nothing. An offer of money would leave me feeling like a failure and as soon as they offered me their service, I was making plans for how to repay them, with a bigger service so as to tip the scales back toward me.
The 6 of Pentacles shows up to spotlight your relationship to both giving and receiving. You see, in order for the energy to flow, there needs to be a balance and an equal exchange of energy.
Because of my extravagant giving of myself and my rejection of what was being offered me in return, I was pissy. I was resentful of all the people I was helping.
The balance was off.
The 6 of Coins comes to remind us that in order to give without strings, we must learn to receive without fear. In order to receive cleanly, we must also be adept at giving.
So where are you on the spectrum? Do you love to give but hate to receive? Do you receive without a second thought but avoid giving? Give it some thought and see if there are some small changes you need to make in order to balance things out a it more so that the energy can flow. (Hint- creating this kind of equilibrium brings more abundance into your life. Yes please to that!)
