I want to start pulling a card a week, just for fun and I think they're always helpful for getting a sense of the energy of the collective. This week I've pulled the Three of Pentacles. In Tarot, pentacles (coins) represent the earth energy and include themes of money, beauty, self worth within their messages.
The Three of Pentacles. Not the most glamorous of cards to pull for the week (you know me, I love the cards that speak to magic and beauty and love) but the Three of Coins is a good card, it’s practical, and being a Taurus I do love me some practicality. This card is all about working within a group to accomplish what you need. This is a minor arcana card, which means that we’re looking at details; smaller picture things that are happening right now, within your personal sphere.
Tarot mimics the rhythms of life and there’s a natural progression that happens where we first receive the calling to make more (The Ace of Coins), we scheme and plan and fantasize about the things we need to do to make that dream come to fruition. As the pieces begin to fall into place, we find ourselves in a juggling act (2 of Coins) and then we arrive at the place where it’s time to recruit others to help us. This is where we’re at with this card.
This isn’t the time to try and get everything done all by yourself. Other people bring value to our experiences and our projects because we only know what we know, and although we may indeed know a lot, we’re limited by the confines of our own mind. We create a synergy when we come together and work towards a common goal. When one mind comes together with another, the ideas and vision unfolds exponentially. We vibe off of each other and the ideas get bigger and better. With more manpower, things simply get done faster and more efficiently.
Another important element at work within this card is around recognition. We recognize the hard work of the other people when we’re in a group, and we're also seen for what we do and this is important. When we work alone, we’re often invisible in many respects; we have only our own reflection of ourselves which (let's be honest) can be used for good or evil and either way, is usually largely inaccurate.
So we must recruit help to make things happen at this point. Remember though to be discerning in how you get the help, who you ask for it. It’s important to call in the right kind of help. We need complimentary energies so that we don't end up feeling resentful, doing all the work or getting miserly about our success (4 of Coins).
In respect to your life right now, what’s going on that you could use the assistance of another with? This could speak to something mundane like chores. It can also mean that you’re experiencing something akin to writers block, a lack of creativity or passion or are up against a boundary issue. Perhaps you need to seek out the advice or guidance of someone who knows more than you do about a particular subject or maybe you need to enlist the help of someone who can step in and give you some physical assistance.
This card has the energy of beginnings (as it’s a 3) and works with foundations. Right now is a very good time to reevaluate the places in your life where you may need assistance and then brainstorm around how you can get it because without a strong foundation, even the best laid plans will come crashing down.
The theme of this card correlates directly with the current retrograde period since we’re still deep within the retrogrades of Mars (action, drive, desire), Saturn (boundaries, restriction, rules), Pluto (shadow) and Mercury (communication).
